Abstract
The blood cyst occurs from breakdown of the hematoma, sequele of previously unrecognized orbital lymphngiomata and traumatic fat necrosis which leads to the development a cavity. Blood cysts following an intraorbital hemorrage are relatively common. Several cases have been reported in the literature of orbital cysts without epitherial or endotherial lining, which most problably result from the breakdown of a hematoma. The orbital hematoma may result from trauma, blood disease, or strain that increases the pressure in the jugular veins. Here, we briefly report a case of orbital blood cyst, approached as a hemicoronal scalp flap with lateral orbital wall osteotomied, referring the literature relating the orbital blood cyst.
